This article examines the documentary legacy of Irodion Zhurakovsky (1721–1733), Archbishop of Chernihiv and Novgorod-Siverskyi, which is primarily preserved in archival repositories, has not been published, and is hereby introduced into scholarly circulation for the first time. This helps fill a gap in the future “Ukrainian Orthodox Diplomatary.” The documents (primarily letters) of I. Zhurakovsky and letters to him from Hetman Danylo Apostol shed light on church land ownership and the complex relations between the Chernihiv Diocese and the hetman’s government.
