ANALYSIS AND REVIEW OF THE CURRENT OF THE BISHOPRIC OF THEUKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH OF UKRAINE (UOC) IN COMPARISONWITH ALL HIERARCHS OF THE UNIVERSAL ORTHODOX CHURCH

Abstract

In 2025, Orthodox Christians prayerfully and scientificall commemorated the most important event in the history of Christ’s Church – the convening and 1700^th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council. Despite the schism of 1054, which deepened after the Crusades, Christians of the Western and Eastern traditions felt their common roots. Another anniversary should also be mentioned: on 7 December 1965, Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras I (Spyrou) and Pope Paul VI signed the «Joint Declaration on the Removal of Mutual Anathemas of 1054».
