Abstract

The article is devoted to the 100th anniversary of the struggle for the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The concept of autocephaly from the standpoint of ecclesiastical law and church history is characterised. Information regarding the understanding of autocephaly in the Ancient Church in comparison with the present is provided. The issue of the consular (catholic) activity of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is considered.
