Незалежість Карфагенської Церкви в епістолярній спадщині священномученика Кипріана Карфагенського

Анотація

У статті проаналізовано проблему належності Карфагенської Церкви, викладену в епістолярній спадщині отця Західної Церкви ІІІ ст. священномученика Кипріана Карфагенського. Установлено, що в середині ІІІ ст. Церква Північної Африки, будучи незалежною, зазнала втручань із боку римського єпископа Стефана. У зв’язку з цим Карфагенська Церква була змушена як на соборному, так і на богословсько-полемічному рівні відстоювати особливості свого внутрішнього життя та автокефалію.

The article analyzes ecclesiological views on the ecclesiastical independence of the Holy Father of the Church of Cyprian of Carthage (200-258 years). In the third century, the Carthaginian Church numbered more than one hundred bishops located in the Roman provinces: Proconsular Africa, Numidia and Mauritania. The persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire in the Eastern and Western Local Churches raised the question of how people baptized in heretical and schismatic communities should be admitted to the Church. Novancian’s split also occurred. The Roman Church received such people through the sacraments of repentance and anointing, and the Church in Carthage through repeated baptism. Disputes arose between the head of the Church of Rome, Pope Stephen I and the head of the Church of Carthage, Cyprian. The Pope demanded that the Carthaginian Church adhere to Roman practices. Arguing the practice of the Carthaginian church during the repiat baptism, Cyprian was forced to defend the independence of the African Church from the intervention of Pope Stephen I. The creative and epistolary heritage of Cyprian of Carthage outlines the teachings of the bishop and his independence as head of the Local Church. Cyprian affirms the equality and independence of the Local Churches and states that each is a Catholic, that is, the whole Church of Christ in a particular place and time.
