У статті розглянуто історію та іконографію відомої у світі чудотворної римської ікони Богородиці «Salus Populi Romani» («Спасіння Римського Народу») та її копій в Україні. До найбільш знаних можна віднести ікону Богородиці Бердичівської, Летичівської, Кохавинської та інших. Значна частина ікон цього іконографічного шедевру була вивезена за кордон у середині XX cm. у період Другої світової війни. Інтерпретації цих ікон в мистецько-стилістичному відношенні в Україні відрізняються від римського оригіналу.
The history and iconography of the world famous miraculous Roman icon of the Theotokos «Salus Populi Romani» ( «Salvation of the Roman People") and its copies in Ukraine are considered in the article. The most prominent ones include the icon of the Theotokos of Berdichiv, of Letychiv, of Kohavyna and others. The majority of the icons of the iconographic masterpiece was taken abroad in the mid 20th century. (During WWII). Interpretations of these icons in the artistic and stylistic relation in Ukraine differ from the Roman original.
